Along the eastern edge of Africa, with a coastline hugging the Indian Ocean, lies the peaceful country of Tanzania. Within the vast plains of this country, there is a small village called Kwala. A boy named Furaha lives in this village with his Mama. Together, they harvest maize, which they use to cook a local food called ugali. When the rain stops falling and the maize stops growing, the whole village suffers from the drought. Furaha must find a way to make the rain return. Through a magical story which calls upon ancient tribal beliefs and fantasy, Furaha discovers a way to bring the rain back to his village.
