Joy Comes In the Morning

A revised edition of Hopolang Phororo’s testimony of sexual abuse and recovery. Hopolang was abused by a neighbour and for nineteen years did not speak about it because she feared blame. The first edition shared her battle to regain self-confidence and self-esteem by turning to God for healing. Through poems she expressed confusion, pain, fear, betrayal, guilt, regret, mistrust, and forgiveness. This revised edition continues the story, recounting how she overcame not only the trauma of the abuse but other challenges including difficult relationships and the climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, something she never imagined she could accomplish. As she walked the paths of recovery she longed to read stories of those who had suffered abuse and overcome it. Because such stories were rare she chose to share her own. She founded the Daughters of Destiny Ministry to mentor young women in several countries.
