With our Partner Publishing (Co-Publishing) services, we invest in books we believe in—you bring the manuscript and we handle the rest, from professional editing and proofreading to cover design, layout, printing, distribution, and the payment of royalties from every sale.
2. Publishing Services (Supported Self-Publishing)
If you prefer to lead the project, our Publishing Services (Supported Self-Publishing) option lets you fund the work while we provide expert editing, design, and layout, premium printing and finishing, and delivery of all the copies to you. This path is ideal for personal, academic, or niche projects that deserve professional care. Book proposals are submitted to us by email. Due to the volume of submissions, the editors at Mkuki na Nyota cannot guarantee a response on unagented submissions.
Mkuki na Nyota Publishers is a full-service publishing company. For new titles, you will work closely with a staff editor to shape and polish the manuscript. Then your editor and our production manager will shepherd your book through the publishing process, from formatting and converting book files to copyediting, from cover design to printing and to distribution to retailers. Mkuki na Nyota. For print titles, Mkuki na Nyota’s Sales and Distribution partner, African Books Collective, will sell those titles to retailers of all types. Mkuki na Nyota also has a full-time sales and marketing team who will work diligently to bring your work to the largest possible audience.
Mkuki na Nyota has longstanding relationships with all of the major retailers both online and bricks n mortar and eagerly pursues opportunities in new and innovative distribution channels, including direct-to-consumer retailing. Our distribution list is constantly growing, as new models and retailers develop.
