A compilation of oral histories about the movement of Luo and some Bantu-speaking peoples: clan histories and the forces that drove them to seek a land of their own (drought, warfare, disease, competition over pastoral resources in western Kenya). The stories span pre-colonial and post-colonial eras. Zedekia Oloo Sisoo, born in 1934, spent over two decades gathering these from elders across North Mara. Edited by Jan Bender Shelter, Professor of History at Goshen College. Internationally distributed by African Books Collective.
